I have naturally wavy hair. I can scrunch it and make it curly or straighten it to make it straight. Does anyone know how I can keep it wavy without it getting so frizzy??

I think that loose/big curls are awesome. There's really no need to "uncurl" your hair so that it's simply wavy. You should accentuate them to give off that loose, timeless, effortless feel. VO5 has a product called "curvaceous CURLS!" and it definitely helps define the curls without making them sticky and stiff like hairspray would.

apply a semi generous amount of SMART FIXX curl enhancer,which can be found a rite aid or cvs, to your hair with your head bent over.

Scrunch scrunch srunch a lot. and your hair shouldnt be super scrunchy but wavy and have volume in there.

It also can help to dry your hair with your hair dryer to add more volume and add more waves.

Make sure to put some hairspray.

Just a light coat of hair spray should do. About 10 inches away from your face and do a quick all over spray.

try a difuser....use a product that will bring out your natural curls. i use curlz up (its in a yellow bottle and most walmarts have it) put it on wet hair and difuse w/ your blowdryer while hanging your hair upside down.

also, humidity does cause some hair to get as your say it poofy, so beware

Okay...lets start with the basics.Dont use PANTENE it makes your hair fall out. Use Herbal Essense. Then blow dry it after you wash it. That will give it a straight but still wavy look.

There are a couple of great ways to do this. One use a serum. There are a million of them out there. My recommendation would be aveda smoothing fluid. Its an all organic Its not a chemical base product and it smells amazing.

Right after you get out the a shower run some threw your hair. Also another good product would be "be curly" by Aveda. It swells the hair to have a bouncy curl or a smooth wavy. These are both for wet hair. To style with these two products. You can go and buy what is called a diffuser.

This slowly drys the hair with out making it frizz. You can go to a sally's store and find one that will attach to you blow dryer. Just tip your head back or forward and place your hair in the diffuser High heat low speed, and dry hair to about 85-90% and allow to dry the rest with out heat. Then you can use the serum again to lay down fly aways. You can also try humectant by aveda. This adds moisture to your hair so that your curls stay bouncy.

Also in all honesty if you are buying products that are under $10 you really should not buy that. They cut corners and add chemicals that only dry your hair out and causes breakage which lead to frizzy hair. Good luck

Straighten it. If you've never put a flat iron to your hair before, make sure you do a test piece to get the temperature right. I've seen girls torch thier hair by using very hot heat on very fine hair.

i would invest in a straightener. where i come from, there are not many people who have a license to chemically straighten because it's a difficult process. (and very easy to screw up!) if done uncorrectly it can literally break your hair in half! it is the worst thing you can do to your hair! plus with a straightener you have more then one option to wear your hair!

I think that side bangs, as long as executed properly, look good on just about everyone. Even the boys seem to be wearing them these days. the best way to find out is to try them. If you don't like them, they are easier to grow out than normal bangs which are a little shorter and more blunt, not layered into the rest of your style like a sideswept bang would be.

i use the sunsilk straightening shampoo and conditioner. it's pretty affordable . or you can try going to the salon and permanently straighten ur haie but that will cost and u'll have to do again later. but the sunsilk thing works just leave the conditioner on for like 15 minutes and rinse. it will make ur hair smooth. try it :)

Get your hair wet, dry your hair with a blowdryer and scrunch your ends up between your fingers. When your hair is about 85 percent dry, seperate your hair in 2 sections down the middle of your head [kind of like pig tails you'd see on a little girl..] and coil one section around your finger and put a hair pin in it keeping it in a coiled shape on your ear [kind of like that one princess from star wars... if you get where I'm at so far..] do that to the otherside too. leave that there for as long as you need to - take it down right as you're leaving to go out. Tossle your hair around with your hands just to seperate the strands and make it look natural, spritz some thickening-holding-spray on your hair to help keep it in place. Also, this would give you a volume boost and make your locks stand out more.

It should curl, your probably not doing it right. Firstly, if its thicker, scrunching your hair with moose will not work. Also, it doesn't really work for anyone. You have to use either hot rollers or a curling iron to get curly hair. I have wavy, thick, hair and I get it curly all the time. What you do is this: use either hotrollers or a curling iron, grab a thin strand of your hair, roll it around the barrel or the roller, hair spray it alot!!! and then gently release it. Honestly, the best thing to do is pay $30 and get a hairdresser to curl your hair for you once. Then observe what they do, see the products they use, ask to buy those products, and buy a good curling iron or hotroller kit. Conair is a good brand name. Give it a try, curling your hair is time consuming and could take 1hr. When your first starting it could take 2hrs. You need to take small strands, so that they curl better. Give it a try, hope this helps!

On my hair, I put them in for about 10minutes. I know its a long time, but it really works the best that way. I always put them on max heat. Make sure you set them with hair spray, and spray about 10inches from the head so you don't get the "cotton candy" look. Make sure your hair is completely dry! Thats very important. Use the smaller rollers for a tight curl, medium rollers (about 1inche) for a gradual curl (that's my favourite, looks good on any face and any hair type), and the big rollers for a curly wavy look like Jessica Simpson has, the just out of bed look.

If your hair is course DO NOT have a stylist use thinning shears or a razor!! The ends of your hair will look dry and dead and HORRIBLE and the fly-aways will be VERY, very bad. I have extremely thick and curly hair and the best way I have found to thin it out is to have lots of layers cut into it. If the texture of your hair is smooth and wavy, then a razor cut is probably the way to go. But if your hair is course then I promise you, thinning shears and razors will only make matters worse.

Well your best bet is right after you wash your hair to put you hair in a braid (or a bunch of braids depending on how tight/many curls you want) and leave it in a braid until your hair dries completely then when you take it out it should stay curly till you wash it, depending on your hair type.

Other thing to do, is again right after you wash your hair divide your hair up into a couple of different sections and buy some "curl spray" to help shape your curls and/or hair spray and then take the different sections of hair and just twist them and clip them up with some small clips and again wait till its dry.

You can also try doing the above with dry hair although it probably wont have as good results and/or your hair might end up a bit stickyish..so best to do right after washing.

Garnier Fructis Curl Shaping Spray Gel is is good to use, (can be found at pretty much any place that sells hair products)

With each square twist your hair and make a mini bun. Leave your hair like this for a half hour or so. Once you pull your hair separate the twists with fingers and spray with aerosol hair spray. If you want it wavier separate your hair into more squares for more mini buns. Hope this makes sense it is hard to explain without showing you.

Well I have curly/wavy hair and the way I tame it is by using Sleek Look Styling Creme Lite. I use Lite because my hair is fine. But if you have thick hair then use the Extreme one. Try Creme of Nature. It works reeeeally good at moisterizing. The Aussie Moist 3 minute miracle is like really a miracle too! (its a deep conditioner). I would recommend The Aussie Moist collection to you though. I have some natural wave in my hair and to enhance them ever night I put a leave in conditioner and a mousse. I REALLY love the aussie Leave in plus mousse. It wont make curls crunchy but it holds them perfectly. So continuting I put the mouse in and put my hair in atleast eight braids. 4 on top, 4 on bottom. And to keep the frizzies away, I put a scarf on my head. The when I wake up I put like a quarter sized amout on frizz creme in my hair.

Always make sure to use a conditioner and never just shampoo. Also if your hair is that dry maybe your washing it too often. Dry hair can be washed ever 2 or even 3 days because washing it too much is removing all the natural oils. Using a deep conditioner once a week or a hot oil treatment can help. You could even try using a leave in conditioner as well as your normal conditioner. Hope that helps.

have you tried any "ethnic" products? usually in the drugstore there is a small section of products aimed at women of color. Most of the products are really made for a kinkyier type of hair but the conditioners are usually very good for anyone with hair dryness.

The best ones seem to come in 8-10 oz jars, it is light colored and creamy. YOu can use this maybe 1-2 a month.

You want to put a good amount all over from root to tip. and put a shower cap (although a heating cap is better because it holds the heat rising from your scalp and activitates the deep conditioner, you can find these in beauty supply stores)

Leave it in for 25-55 minutes then wash out with warm water.

Also, look online for some homeade conditioners (that dont contain citris fruit)

Look for 'smoothing' products and especially those designed for 'humid environments'. The last thing you want to do is to put a straightening comb on hair that's been relaxed -- that contributes to breaking. Before you put any type of chemical in your hair, you have to build up the strength to minimize the breakage; otherwise, your hair will continue to break.

The first thing you would have to do to build your hair is to find a shampoo with no laurel sulfate and a conditioner with no alcohol. Shampoos and conditioners with those ingredients will strip your hair of the oil your hair needs to keep it strong. So be sure to check those ingredients.

Personally, I use Jason Naturals jojoba shampoo and conditioner -- you can find it at a health food store or buy it online at http://www.jason-natural.com. It's 70% organic. The jojoba oil in the shampoo and conditioner will put back the oils that your hair is lacking. Be sure to wash your hair at least once a week.

Also, be sure to deep condition your hair once a week for about 15-30 minutes under a heating cap or hair dryer. The jojoba conditioner also has protein which will help strengthen your hair. After you rinse out the conditioner, gently comb your hair and twist it and pin it up and let it air dry.

Finally, if you have to straighten your hair, DO NOT USE A STRAIGHTENING COMB. Instead, use a ceramic flat iron -- it's not as harsh and will keep your hair straighter, longer. But use it only once a week. Too much heat will also cause breakage.

I've been following this regimen for the past two years and my hair is in the best condition it's ever been.

1) Shampoo with Pantene Pro-V Smooth and Sleek Shampoo

3) Let conditioner sit in hair for 3 min.

4) Brush out hair and let it air dry

5) Brush hair back and gather 2/3 of it and put it in a bun on top of your head.

7) Repeat step 6 with another layer of hair

8) Once all hair is straightened, squirt Paul Mitchell SUPER Skinny Serum into palm

Here's my routine.

Shampoo %26amp; Condition

Towel dry as much as possible.

Spray John Freida straightening spray into damp hair.

Split hair into five sections %26amp; clip them up:

Front right

Front left

Thin top layer in the back - this one has to look GOOD

Middle layer in the back

Bottom layer

Starting with the bottom layer in the back, use a blowdryer and a FLAT brush (not round, I found mine at Target, it looks like a straightening iron, but it's a hogshair bristle brush) to pull thin sections of your hair taut %26amp; flat while you blow dry it. This makes my hair bouncy, but still straight. With the front sections, make sure you blow dry them the way you want them to lay. Separate them at your part.

If you want your hair super-flat then use the CHI straightening iron. I like the bouncy effect though, it's super trendy right now.
