How can I get wavy hair...fast?

I have really thick hair and its long, but i am really bad with a curling iron and i dont have time to braid my hair or use hot rollers, how can i get wavy hair, without too much product(i dont have any mousse and stuff like that)

Well for the long run, I would invest in a diffuser attachment and a blowdryer if you don't have one. If you do have a blowdryer but can't afford a diffuser this is what I would do, I would take a sock and place it over the end of the blowdryer and blowdry my hair upside down. Diffusers work very well to bring out natural curls and waves, without frizz, because they deliever less heat. When your hair is wet, it would be a good idea to apply a little mousse or gel or any hairstyling product if you have any, if not when your done blowdrying you can take a LITTLE vaseline and smooth it in to get rid of any frizz.

Scrunch it or get a perm.

I would say the best way to get wavy hair starts in the shower:

1- Shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would but right after you have rinsed out the conditioner, finish off by running your hair in cold water for a few seconds to smooth out your hair cuticles.

* It is important that you do NOT brush your hair after your shower because that causes the natural shape of your hair (especially when you're aiming for wavy hair) to frizz out and become undefined. If you wish to brush out any knots in your hair, do it all BEFORE your shower.

2- Get some of the water out of your hair until damp and not dripping by pressing small sections of your hair with a towel or "slapping" your hair with a towel in your hand. Do NOT twist or "bend" your hair or it will also cause the natural shape of your hair to become undefined.

Optional- Apply curl enhancers in your hair (Such as Got2B Curl-Vacious Perfecting Gloss N' Curl, available your local drug store) while damp.

3- Set your blow dryer on the hottest temperature and the lowest speed and attach a compatible diffuser to it. (Such as a set from Conair) By tilting your head to the side, let the desired section of your hair to hang from the roots. The diffuser facing towards your the roots of your hair, take a small section of your hair and fold it in place so that the diffsuer is "holding" your hair with its "fingers". Hold it for 6-10 seconds at a time and lower your blow dryer. Repeat until you are finished. (Your hair should be completely dry by this point and if you put any hair products that hardened your damp hair, it should be soft as well.)

*Your hair dries out the fastest where your hairline meets the neck, so always start styling your hair from there and up.

*Whatever you do, do NOT brush out the waves of your hair.
