My hair used to go wavy/curly when i put hair mousse in it but recently it just has loads of kinks a

a bit fizzy looking. Mousse no longer seems to work. Does anyone know why this might be suddenly happening and what I can do to fix it? I straighten it quite a bit but this never used to have an impact!

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Hi,

Has your hair grown alot since you started this technique? It sounds as though it has become to heavy to hold the curl. You maybe could get a trim and see if this helps.

well your straightening your hair which can cause heat damage to your hair. i recommend that use a leave in conditioner or use anti frizz spray.

ok, i had that wavy/curly hair to, but when i started to wear gel and mousse, my hair was destroyed, so i started to shampoo and conditioner my hair with tresemme everyday, and now back to normal and even better so try it because the chemicals in gel and mousse damage ur hair so just stik with water

did you have layers in your hair that have grown out? my hair goes wavy too but i use curling wax (shockwaves), its much better if i have layers in my hair. i also straighten it alot too, i think thats why it works cos i've damaged it to be honest!

LOL...this recently started happening to me as well. Of course, I have typical African American hair, however, when I used to relax my hair, it would automatically become soft, flat and manageable. Now, whenever I relax my hair I have to flat iron it straight unless it shoots every which way(kinda looks like I stuck my finger in a light socket). There are a number of reasons this could be happening to you-in my case it's the hormones I'm taking-yea-they don't include that side effect on the birth control package insert, but any good beautician will tell you this. But it could also be that your hair is just weirding out because of the extreme humidity we've been experiencing...who knows? Try blow drying your hair straight first and the mousse just may make the curls snap back, minus the kinks. Good luck!

try coxier by aveda. it's a liquid gel. I have naturally curly hair and i us it to keep frizz down and defined curls.
