My hairstylist used a certain type of styling spray that she applied to my hair before straightening it. I want to say it's called Mizani Professional Holding Spray - Ultimate and Humidity Resistant Mist.

My hair stayed straight for a good week and became wavy soon after. I live in southeast Texas, so the fact that my hair stayed straight for so long was suprising.

My daughter used ion products. they make a whole line of stuff for people who flat iron their hair . She uses the shampoo and conditioner. then every time she flat irons she uses an anti frizz cream called " luster cream" from the same company. Hope I've helped.
