Does spraying salt water in your hair make it wavy? are there better ways?

i seen that in a magazine before it said to do that if you want a back from the beach look it worked pretty good the first time i did it with regular salt and water but it worked even better with sea salt if you want wavy hair you should use some hot rollers instead but i still like the salt water thing though

Don't know why it would. If it long enough to braid, then do so when it is damp ansd let it dry that way. It will be wavy when you unbraid.

Worked a little bit, but it was much more grundgy and dirty then wavy. Felt like there was this gross coating on my hair, almost like a wax.

There wasn't much of a difference. I think the trick is letting your hair dry in the sun.

Bumble and Bumble have a nice spray (surf spray) that has salt in it -- but it doesnt make your hair gross.

You can buy 'beach wave' hair products, like John Frieda's Ocean Waves (blonde hair), or their Starlit Waves (dark hair). Garnier Fructis makes one too. Or maybe just read the ingredient list to try to make your own. I think the salt just texturizes your hair, and would bring out any wave that's already in your hair. If you have straight hair, it won't 'make' it wavy. Plus, I think the salt might be drying, if used regularly.

how 'bout a dollop of mouse or gel while your hair is damp and "scrunching" it. I think a diffuser on your hairdryer will help bring out the natural wave in your hair.If you have stubborn stick straight hair, get a perm, kind of drastic I know but you'll have lots of different style choices after.
