Practice with braids. Wear them to bed, only damp, as wet might not dry.

after u shower, braid your hair in tight braids overnight and take the braids out in the morning and brush it..or crimp it.

you can braid your hair, put a little mousse or gel on the braids and then unravel them. maybe keep it braided over night.

Use large rollers to heat set it. The larger the roller the looser the wave. for a beach look dissolve a tbsp of salt in a cup of water and spary over hair. Scrucnh your hair to get a beachy wavey look. Or take your hair when it;'s still slighty wet and twists chunks of your hair and pin them up. dry them and un-pin. That will give you loose waves too. Just don't braid it. That will make your hair frizzy.

Get some hair gel and apply it to wet hair right afte r you shower. Scrunch your hair from the tips to the roots. Do not brush or blow dry your hair. Just let it dry naturally. You should have a little more curl than usual.

after shower while it is still wet use your hands (only) to scrunch it up. as it dries keep scrunching as needed, use mousse if needed to hold it.

**Shampoo as usual. Condition your hair but dont use too much because your hair won't scrunch that well. Buy lightweight mousse and some extra hold hair spray. If you have a hair "claw" it works great. After you get out of the shower towel dry your hair (don't blow dry) until damp. Add enough mousse to lightly comb through with fingers and with a couple claws clip all your hair in one or two bunches. *What i do is grab top half of hair and scrunch in messy bun and clip. then do the same for bottom half of hair. Do your makeup or whatever to let your hair dry out for 10 mins. Then unclip hair, add hairspray and crunch until you like. I have straight/wavy thicker hair with layers and it always works like a charm. Don't overdo the hairspray or it won't look as natural but it does ensure it stays scrunched/wavy all day! And with this trick it doesnt matter what mousse or hairspray you use. The mousse works as a set as you clip, and the hairspray holds. Since your hair already has a natural wave to it, this will work easily for you.

Braiding it will make it looked more crimped than wavy. I would suggest using bobby pins to make large pincurls. Then let it dry naturally or blow it dry while pinned. Take out the pins and fluff. Perfect natural waves.

When going to bed, twist your hair into a ball and tuck it in socks (as in, insert it inside). When you wake up in the morning, it'll come down in ripples. It really works!
