My hair is curly and wavy at the same time, i like straight, what do i do to make it straight?

my hair is and always was for my whole life curly. i hate it. i don't want to blow dry it or straighten it, do you guys have any idea on how to make my hair straighter? I really need help on this.

Try using a flat iron. Just make sure your hair is slightly damp when you use it.

a good cermaic flat iron and CHI silk infusion oil do a really good job of straightening hair

ok if you can't use a straightener try a relaxer for your hair!

Use a straightener and if you don't want to spend a lot of money on it, buy the generic chi. It works really well on my hair and it's so curly! I'm totally in the same boat!

I wish I knew the answer to that.

I would say it is almost impossible besides chemical relaxing ... which I do not think is good for hair no matter how harmless it says.

I'm thinking about getting dreadlocks just to avoid straightening my hair with the flat iron anymore. Hahh

you could try some smoothing serums, or go to a salon for a japanese straightening treatment for $400. me? i blow dry and straighten--it's the easiest and most economical.

Well there's really no other way! Besides a perm maybe.

Okay you want straight hair, but you don't want it to be straightened . . . mhmmm okay

Beggers can't be choosers so either break out the flat iron or the relaxer. It's your chocie.

mine's like that too... maybe herbal essences dangerously straight shampoo and conditioner? from what i've heard, it works.

you can get it chemically strightened, its a little damaging, but if you really hate your curly hair then do it. good luck

My hair is curly and wavy at the same time, i like straight, what do i do to make it straight?

you could get it permed straight, but i would not recommend this as it does damage it. really the only thing you can do is straighten it with a straightner. Sorry.

well i've always wanted to get my hair chemically straightened but many people tell me thats its really bad for your hair on girl told me that her hair started breaking in half and you can tell she showed me and the other girl it melted her hair so i suggest not doing that i think that you should go to your nearest beauty store or search online at like folias i think and find a good flat iron.

then follow up with a quick swoosh of your hair straightener to the ends of you hair

You have three options if you want to make your hair straight without having to iron it much (there is no option where you don't iron it, you'll have to either way, it just makes it easier). You can use a Japanese Straightener, which is a process that takes about 4-6 hours and runs really expensive depending on the length of your hair. It makes your hair relatively straight, but you'll still have to straighten it a little and it lasts about six months because your hair grows out, unless you want kinky roots and straight ends.

Another option is a reverse perm, this is the chemical process that takes about 3-4 hours, and it is less expensive then the Japanese straightener, but doesn't make your hair really straight. It relaxs your hairs natural curls usually making it wavy or semi-straight. I did this one, it works a whole lot better than a relaxer because the chemicals are a lot stronger, you have to consider that they use these products to take out a perm, so it must be relatively strong, but you need to use the straigthen iron to make it completely straight, but it really is easier to manage.

The last option is a relaxer, which you can buy from Wal-Mart or most drug stores and also salons do it, but it's more expensive then buying the products yourself. The relax is just going to releax the curls a little, not a whole big difference, it usually gets the kink out of your hair if you have frizzy hair, and it takes about 2-4 hours depending on the chemicals and whether you are doing it at home or not. You definately need to straighten your hair in this process but it make its a little easier to straighten, but barely a difference at least when I tried it in a salon it really didn't help much.

Hope I helped :D

For a straighten iron, I have two a Chi iron and a Revlon Wet-To-Straight Iron (make sure you buy ceramic models). The Chi iron really is the best, and I've tried a lot of irons, unlike the other irons I've had the Chi really gets rid of frizz, and the design of the iron is easy on my hair and doesn't get caught anywhere. The Revlon Wet-To-Straight it not healthy for your hair, but it works really good in my opinion if your hair is semi wet, which you typically shouldn't do because it'll dry out your hair and might create frizz (because it's like frying it), but it's a good secondary iron in my opinion.

You could just go out and get a japanese straight perm. It's pretty expensive, about $300-$600, but you'll only have to go to the salon one time, pay one time. it takes a couple of hours at the salon, but i think it might be worth 3-5 hours (depending on salon)

there's also reverse perms and relaxers (available at drugstores so you can do it at home), but the japanese perm is the straightest. you might have to get another one in the next year though if your hair grows. the reverse perm is a lot cheaper, especially if you do it yourself and will make your hair straight enough to fix. the only problem is that it also takes a while (2 hours) and smells horrible!

The downside to any perm is that the chemicals are not too good for your scalp. You could just try to avoid getting the chemicals/perm solution on your roots in your doing it yourself, or request it at the salon.

If you really don't wanna do it there's always gel to weigh down/ straighten your hair (just run it through you hair with a comb several times), a hair straightener (takes less than 15 min., costs around $25 at target, but try getting a used one on craigslist.com for $5 like me. I have a revlon curler/ straightener), and instead of conditioner use a detangling cream (coconut creme prevents frizz too) or a silk serum. John Frieda STRAIGHT worked for my friend too, but it was pretty light. i saw herbal essences dangerously straight once and was soo tempted, but trust me herbal essences NEVER work for me. otherwise, i can't think of many hair straightning shampoos.

honestly though, there's no easy way to straighten your hair. Just make sure never to use light rinses or volumizing hair products

If your getting a straightener I also heard ceramic straighteners are pretty good too, but I've never seen or used one. It's probably better since it doesn't fry your hair as much as a flat iron (hair straightener). It could work well in combonation with a relaxer.

A relaxer and gel might work well too!

good luck!
