Have I destroyed my hair forever?

I have natural poofy, thick wavy hair when my hair is dried. I have been straightening my hair every 3 or 4 days for 6 months and it's to the point where my hair is so dry and dull and has no shine! I think I burned my hair permanently! Do any of you know if it is beyond repair?

Also, I've decided to give my hair a break and just go back to washing my hair and while its wet putting in gel to hold it and tame frizz. But I need some cute hairstyles.

I have shoulder-length hair and it is wavy when wet. Any ideas?

Have I destroyed my hair forever?

Good news: There's hope.

Bad news: It's a little costly.

I've been flatironing my thick waves for almost a year now and about 3 months ago I'd had enough.

I switched shampoos and conditioners. I would recommend Biolage hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Condition every night, and leave it in for at least 3 minutes, but shampoo only every other night, since shampooing dries out your hair.

Trim the ends of your hair. Getting rid of split ENDS will prevent splitting of the whole hair.

Take care of your hair. When it's wet just use a wide tooth comb. Use hair ties that don't have the little metal piece on them, those can catch your hair and pull strands out.

When you use any heat tool on your hair, first spray a heat shield on it. It takes a few minutes to dry, but it's WELL worth it.

Also, use a shine serum. If you use the right amount, it will soothe your hair, smooth down frizz and bring out shine without making hair greasy. I use Biosilk Silk Therapy Cure. It's expensive, but one bottle will last you a LONG time. We're talking buying maybe one bottle a year.

After you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair. When it's dry enough that it's not dripping, but still wet, put a dime sized amount of any shine serum into your palm. Rub your hands together and then work through your hair. Apply after flatironing for extra shine.

It's a lot, but it WORKS! My hair is soft, shiny, and smooth now!

Oh, and for extra soft waves, try mixing in 3 drops of honey with your normal shampoo once a week.

try using headbands.. you cna get some really cute ones at target and places like that.. as for your hair, go and get it trimmed (this helps a lot) and get your hairstylist to recommend a good conditioner!

deep condition it and it will be fine, but hold off on the iron like you are planning.

I think u should use Pantene Pro-V Restoratives. It makes all the damage you have done 2 your hair go away and restore your hair to its original beauty and shine.... oh and also get Garnier Fructis Deep Fortifying Conditioner!!! I would go to www.garnierfructis.com and www.pantene.com and look these products up to decide if they're right for u...... HOPE IT HELPS!!!^_^

lolz, don't worry it won't be damaged forever.. it'll eventually grow out, so for the time being you should just apply anti-frizz to tame your hair... and conditions it everytime you washes your hair... it should be okay, but if you still think that it's not helping you should just go to a salon and ask them to give you a cut that compliments your natural curls... I don't have natural curls but sis has it and when she gets the right cut, it makes her hair looks even cuter than those with straight hair... So make sure you go to a good hairstylist for a nice cut...

Good Luck!

*My friends straightens their hair everyday and their hair is still be okay, maybe you should use some hair creme or leave-on conditioner everytime after you straighten it...

any cream leave on treatment can help repair your hair; also try putting on some olive oil o avocado, they REALLY help.

You can try using herbal essences mousse to wear your waves.

Hope it helps girl!
